THE THEME: “Home & Heritage”
What does “Home & Heritage” mean?
Home is more than a place—it’s where we feel safe, loved, and connected. Heritage is the story of who we are, where we come from, and the traditions, memories, and cultures that shape us. Artists are invited to show what home and heritage mean to them through art.
Here are some ideas…….These are just ideas. Artwork may reflect:
- Family traditions or stories
- Cultural backgrounds or ancestry
- A house, neighborhood, or special place
- Memories, celebrations, or everyday moments
- Nature, community, or history tied to “home”
Younger artists may want to focus on what makes home special to them.
Ideas may include:
- Their house, room, or favorite place
- Family members, pets, or routines
- A place where they feel happy or safe
Some artists may explore both home and heritage more deeply.
Ideas may include:
- Family traditions, holidays, or foods
- Cultural symbols or stories
- Places or people important to their family history
Older artists are invited to interpret the theme in a personal and meaningful way.
Ideas may include:
- Identity, ancestry, or cultural pride
- Changes to home over time
- Connections between past, present, and future
- Abstract or symbolic representations of heritage
