Helping Our Community

A Big Big Thank You!

We are thrilled to share the heartwarming story behind the latest project undertaken by “Arts of the Inland”. When Laura Perry, the director of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy in Clewiston and LaBelle, expressed her vision for a vibrant mural in the Hendry Regional’s Children’s Therapy department, she ignited a spark of creativity within our community. Laura’s neighbor and AOI member, Sandy Lundy, took up the charge and brought the idea to our Vice President, Shary Weckwerth, who saw its potential. President Stella Luckey then crafted a plan, sketching the concept onto the walls of the new office. With dedication and enthusiasm, Stella was joined by Mary Nelle Thomas, Sandy Lundy, Becca Pratt, and Ellie Schlager, who poured countless hours into bringing the mural to life. As it now adorns the walls of the therapy department, we eagerly anticipate the joy it will bring to the children and staff of Hendry Regional for years to come. Hendry Regional will be gifting a donation to Arts of the Inland for all the hard work.

Spring Fling Show

On March 23rd, Arts of the Inland hosted a sensational Spring Fling Event, and we’re thrilled to share the highlights! The dedication and hard work of our board members were truly exemplary in ensuring the success of this memorable evening. Secretary Diana Carkin orchestrated a fantastic silent auction, which significantly contributed to our fundraising efforts for future projects. Grants Director Janet Papinaw extended a warm welcome to our esteemed judge at the gallery and lent her expertise to Brandon, our Membership Chairman, as they co-hosted the awards ceremony. Treasurer Stacy Moody and V.P. Shary Weckwerth spared no effort in ensuring that the gallery was adorned with vibrant colors, and that the food, tables, and chairs were impeccably arranged for the event. Special thanks go to Stella for arranging the musical talents, and a heartfelt appreciation to Paul Luckey for his extended performance. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to the Swamp Cabbage Royalty for their assistance with the 50/50 and for gracing us with their remarkable talents. This event truly showcased the spirit of our community and the passion we all share for the arts.

Arts of the Inland is excited to share updates on our ongoing efforts to enhance the LaBelle Gallery and Cultural Center. Thanks to the success of several recent fundraisers, we’re making significant strides toward much-needed improvements. With the generous support of member Mel King, we’re revitalizing our classroom space, ensuring it remains a vibrant hub for creativity and learning. Additionally, Vice President Shary has been diligently sourcing solutions for the deteriorating front porch, securing a commitment from Beck’s Construction to undertake the project at a discounted rate. We’re thrilled about this partnership and eagerly anticipate the completion of this vital project by summer. These endeavors exemplify our commitment to fostering a dynamic arts community and providing a welcoming space for all.
